Vidas Landing is located one mile west of Clementson Rapids, on County Road 392 North, one half mile north of Minnesota State Highway 11. Vidas Landing has a boat launch, public picnic tables, a picnic shelter and an outhouse. It also has a fish cleaning area and a dock. Located 1/4 mile north on County Road 89 off Highway 11 at fire marker 740 is the Williams Township Hall, which was originally a school. Williams Township was organized about 1903 and the school was built in 1907 near the banks of the Rainy River. Children walked to school or traveled by a covered horse-drawn sleigh in the winter and by a small black Ford bus in the summer. The school was closed in 1928. It then became known as the Williams Township Hall. The building was used as a community meeting place for organizations such as the Farmers Union and 4-H, card parties, birthday parties and Con Con meetings. It was also used as a community polling place during elections. This landmark was built over one hundred years ago and is the last building of its kind in our county. In recent years, foundation issues have closed the hall to the public. In an effort to save this historic building, funds have been set aside and the Historical Society in Koochiching County is working to save this landmark.
